Features:

• Low latency support for USB MIDI input devices.
• Full-screen piano introduced in version 1.5.5.
• The app has been tested to run in the background or with the screen turned off, enabling practice with USB MIDI Piano while conserving device battery.
• Capability to listen to MIDI & RMI (rmid) files utilizing custom instruments from SoundFont files.
• Export MIDI + SoundFont to Ogg format without the need for a PC to convert MIDI into streamable music.
• Easily switch between supported soundfonts to assess the impact on MIDI sounds.
• Try out SoundFont instruments using a small virtual piano, USB MIDI Keyboard, or regular keyboard. Supports Key, Volume, Pitch, Modulation, Pedal events, with potential for more functionalities that were not fully tested.
• Record to a MIDI file from a USB MIDI keyboard, USB keyboard, or virtual piano.
• Connect a standard USB QWERTY keyboard and play MIDI files with key mapping similar to Linux Multimedia Studio (LMMS version from 2016).

IMPORTANT:

• Using a USB MIDI Keyboard device while a MIDI file is playing may not function as expected due to changes in settings caused by MIDI events.
• If a USB MIDI Keyboard connection issue arises, attempt turning the device on and off and select the app when prompted by the operating system.
• Only fluidsynth/PolyPhone-1.x supported sf2 SoundFont files are usable; not all SoundFont files with the .sf2 extension are compatible.
• Utilizing effects like Reverb, Chorus, high sample rate, and interpolation can heavily strain the CPU and lead to audio glitches. Adjust all options to minimum levels for glitch-free audio if necessary.
• Be cautious with volume gain settings as it may cause audio clipping or noisy output. Keeping the volume below 1.0 is advised if the MIDI contains multiple instruments with already high volume levels.

Issues:

• Repeatedly playing subsequent music tracks using buttons or experiencing issues with problematic MIDI files may occasionally lead to app crashes or non-responsive behavior.

Asset Usage:

• The majority of MIDI files used are sourced from www.vgmusic.com.
• Only SoundFonts and MIDI music with permissive licenses have been incorporated. In cases where licensing information was challenging to acquire, please notify if any distribution issues are encountered related to music resembling certain well-known game OSTs. Any conflicts will be promptly addressed.
